There’s a free manual and a free app. There is also an online program and a channel with videos. Great stuff from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs whose research has helped many troops, families and many others suffering from post-traumatic stress.

Developed jointly by the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, Psychological First Aid (PFA is an evidence-informed modular approach for assisting people in the immediate aftermath of disaster and terrorism: to reduce initial distress, and to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning.
